In the world of Kaiju N° 8, Kafka Hibino is a disillusioned thirty-something working for a company that cleans the corpses of monsters. His destiny changes when a tiny parasitic creature forces its way into his body, giving him the ability to instantly metamorphose into a humanoid Kaiju of unprecedented power. Referred to as "Kaiju N° 8" by the military forces of the JAKDF (Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force), it possesses seismic strength and phenomenal endurance. However, assimilating the parasite is not without risk. During extreme emotional peaks or in the face of unprecedentedly violent threats, Kafka's human consciousness is temporarily erased. The entity then takes total control of his body ("Uncontrolled"), transforming the hero into a purely instinctive force of nature, unable to distinguish between his allies and his enemies.
