History and background of the model
The character of Porky Pig, created by animators Friz Freleng and Bob Clampett, made his first appearance in 1935 in the short film I Haven't Got a Hat. He quickly became the first real star of Warner Bros. Animation, characterised by his stammer and his role as the official presenter closing the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons inside a red drum.Marketed by Funko as part of the Looney Tunes series, the "Sketched Deco" variant refers to traditional 20th-century animation techniques. The absence of colour and the incorporation of false pencil lines mimic the appearance of a sheet of celluloid or an initial research drawing found on the drawing tables of animators of the time. The pose faithfully repeats its historical conclusion with the sign displaying its signature replica.
