Character background and universe (Lore)

Chisato Nishikigi is one of the main characters in Lycoris Recoil. Behind her cheerful demeanour and laid-back attitude lies one of the most talented Lycoris agents in her organisation.

The Lycoris are young agents tasked with secretly maintaining public safety by intervening before threats become apparent to the general public. Chisato, however, stands out for having a philosophy very different from what one might expect of an elite fighter: she seeks to avoid killing her opponents as much as possible and favours non-lethal methods.

She works mainly at the LycoReco café, where she forms a duo with Takina Inoue. Their relationship is one of the main driving forces behind the series: Chisato, who is outgoing and spontaneous, teaches Takina to enjoy everyday life more, whilst Takina brings a more methodical and disciplined approach to their partnership.

Chisato also possesses exceptional physical abilities and reflexes, notably an impressive ability to anticipate the trajectories of shots at close range. Behind her constant optimism, however, lies a much more complex story, closely linked to her special abilities and her past.

This ‘Street Snap’ version deliberately sets aside her role as an agent to showcase a more everyday side to the character: that of an energetic, sociable young woman who is always ready to make the most of every moment.
