Character background and lore

Dellian Fel is a human Planeswalker from Arcavios, the plane on which the prestigious magical university of Strixhaven is located. He teaches at the College of Flestrefleur, a faculty whose disciplines explore the constant interplay between life and death, growth and decay.

Flestrefleur primarily utilises black and green mana. Its students and lecturers work with life energy, plants, fungi, poisons and necromancy. Dellian himself is a master of chloromancy, which influences the plant world, as well as the necromantic arts associated with the dead and their residual energy.

His appearance directly reflects these two fields. The leaves and roots that entwine his clothing symbolise natural growth, whilst his luminous markings and austere demeanour evoke more unsettling magical practices. Two fingers on his right hand are also described as prosthetics, a detail that further emphasises his unusual relationship with the body and its transformation.

Dellian has a distant and elusive personality. He is curious but not particularly warm, and is sometimes seen wandering the university’s corridors at night without explaining what he is doing.
