Character background and universe (Lore)

Steve Rogers, alias Captain America, is one of the iconic heroes of the Marvel universe. Transformed into a super-soldier during the Second World War, he became the symbol of an ideal based on courage, justice and the defence of freedoms. His shield, virtually indestructible and traditionally associated with vibranium, has become one of the most recognisable objects in the Marvel universe.

This figurine is specifically inspired by Captain America as he appears in the comic *Avengers: Twilight*. In this story, set in an alternate future, Steve Rogers lives in a society where the former heroes have faded from the limelight and an authoritarian regime has gradually taken hold. Faced with this new reality, he takes up his shield and the Captain America costume once more to defend the values to which he has remained true. Hasbro directly describes this version as that of a Steve Rogers taking up the mantle of Captain America to fight the fascist state that has developed around him.
