Character background and universe (Lore)

Ben Grimm, alias The Thing, is one of the four founding members of the Fantastic Four. After being exposed to cosmic rays during a space mission with Reed Richards, Sue Storm and Johnny Storm, his body was transformed into an extremely durable rocky shell, granting him superhuman strength.

Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, possesses the ability to become invisible and to generate powerful force fields. A key member of the Fantastic Four, she is also one of the central figures in the Richards family and regularly plays a decisive role in the group’s missions.

The Future Foundation was established by Reed Richards as an organisation designed to bring together brilliant young minds and seek solutions to major scientific and social problems. During this period, the Fantastic Four notably adopted new outfits, predominantly black and white, which were very different from their traditional blue costumes.

In this line-up, The Thing goes through a period of doubt linked to the presumed disappearance of Johnny Storm, whilst Sue Storm throws herself wholeheartedly into the Future Foundation’s mission, notably as regent of Old Atlantis. This Marvel Legends set accurately recreates this particular period in the history of the Fantastic Four.
