The character of Sakura Haruno comes from the famous manga Naruto, written and drawn by Masashi Kishimoto, and its animated TV adaptation produced by the Pierrot studio from 2002. The plot takes place in a retro-futuristic world dominated by clans of ninjas and focuses on the journey of Naruto Uzumaki, a young, marginalised ninja who aspires to become the leader of his village, the Hokage. At the start of the adventure ("Classic" period), Sakura is a young aspiring kunoichi from the Hidden Village of Konoha who joins the famous Team 7 alongside Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiwa, under the direction of master Kakashi Hatake. Although she initially stood out for her excellent command of chakra and her great academic intelligence, her evolution led her to develop phenomenal brute strength and exceptional medical skills, making her one of the essential pillars of her generation.
