Orochimaru is one of the major antagonists of the Naruto manga and animated adaptation, created by Masashi Kishimoto. A genius ninja from the hidden village of Konoha and former pupil of the Third Hokage, he and his comrades Jiraya and Tsunade formed the "Sannin" group (the three Legendary Ninja), an honorary title awarded by Hanzo during the Second Great Ninja War for their power in battle. This specific variation captures Orochimaru at this pivotal period, before he deserts the village to pursue his own forbidden research into immortality and mastery of all the jutsu in the universe.
