Add the fastest and most tenacious ninja from *One-Punch Man* to your collection with this POP! figure Figure No. 2530, dedicated to Speed-o’-Sound Sonic – simply named ‘Sonic’ on the BEM’S product page. Designed by Funko, it depicts the fighter in the midst of an attack, armed with his curved blade and surrounded by a purple effect evoking the speed of his movements.
Sonic strikes a particularly dynamic pose in mid-air. One leg is tucked behind him whilst the other stretches towards the base, giving the impression that he has just leapt or is suddenly changing direction in the middle of a fight. A transparent support attached beneath the figure keeps it suspended in this pose.
His long black hair is swept back and ends in several pointed strands. A prominent fringe falls across his forehead, whilst his light grey eyes are surrounded by the character’s distinctive purple markings. His slanted eyebrows and stoic expression convey his concentration as well as the confidence he has in his own speed.
The figure is dressed in his black ninja outfit, which is form-fitting and reinforced with several metal elements. Studded grey bands encircle his waist, forearms and legs. A purple panel protects the upper part of his torso, echoing the long strips of fabric that flow out behind him.
In his left hand, Sonic holds a large, curved silver blade. Its sculpted hilt features several black, metallic spikes, whilst his other hand remains open in front of him in a posture of control. The hilt of a second sword is visible on his back, suggesting he keeps an additional weapon within easy reach.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Speed-o’-Sound Sonic is a professional ninja whose speed, agility and mastery of weapons far exceed ordinary human capabilities. He first appears as a bodyguard and assassin hired to protect an influential criminal from members of the Paradisers group.
Sonic regards combat as an opportunity to test his skills. When he encounters Saitama, he believes he is facing an ordinary opponent and attempts to eliminate him using his rapid movements. However, the particularly humiliating outcome of their confrontation turns this mission into a personal obsession.
From that moment on, Sonic sees Saitama as his main rival. He steps up his training and launches surprise attacks in the hope of defeating him, without fully grasping the gulf in power between them. VIZ describes him precisely as an extremely fast ninja, yet one who is constantly frustrated by his inability to beat Saitama.
His confidence stems from his particularly rigorous training. Sonic has mastered various movement techniques, high-speed attacks, swordplay, shurikens and several diversionary tactics. He can create afterimages that give the impression that multiple versions of himself are attacking simultaneously.
This speed enables him to take on high-level heroes and monsters. In particular, he takes on Genos, Saitama’s cyborg apprentice. Their battle pits Sonic’s agility against Genos’s mechanical power and energy attacks, but the ninja’s primary aim is to reach Saitama rather than to defeat his new opponent.
Despite his role as a recurring antagonist, Sonic does not actually belong to the Monster Association. He acts according to his own objectives, refuses to serve any organisation, and is driven above all by his desire to surpass Saitama.
Members of the Monster Association do, however, attempt to recruit him by offering him a cell capable of transforming him into a monster. This situation forms a significant part of the fifteenth volume of the manga, in which the organisation’s minions draw closer to him.
Sonic has a proud, competitive and theatrical personality. He frequently announces his techniques with confidence and believes he can make up for every defeat through more intense training. This determination enables him to improve, but also prevents him from accepting that Saitama operates in a completely different league of power.
His elegant appearance and precise movements contrast with the comical situations in which he finds himself. The character can switch in an instant from an impressive display of speed to an absurd defeat – a contrast that is characteristic of the humour in *One-Punch Man*.
This POP! figure chooses to highlight his most spectacular aspect. The curved blade, his suspended body and long purple curls portray Sonic as an elusive ninja hurtling at full speed, moments before another attempt to prove that he can finally surpass Saitama.
