Origin and background of the character
Introduced in the second generation of video games with the Pokémon Gold and Silver versions, Pichu is an Electric-type Pokémon. Classified as one of the ‘Baby Pokémon’, it has the unique ability to evolve into the iconic Pikachu when it develops a very high level of friendship and happiness with its Trainer. Despite its small size, its pink cheek pouches can store electricity, although it cannot yet control its discharges and sometimes gives itself an electric shock whilst playing or laughing. Recognisable by its large, black-rimmed ears and its tail shaped like a small lightning bolt, this figurine perfectly captures all the mischief and cuteness of this classic from the Nintendo franchise.
