However, after discovering that her opponent was in fact a boy and being defeated by him once more in his male form, the law of her village now compels her to marry him, triggering a most aggressive courtship. Just like the Saotome family, Shampoo is also afflicted by a curse following her fall into one of the springs of Jusenkyo (the Drowned Cat Spring): she instantly transforms into a cute little pink cat upon contact with cold water – the absolute last straw for Ranma, who suffers from a severe fear of cats.
