Origin and character’s universe

Rebuild of Evangelion is a film series reimagining the cult universe of Neon Genesis Evangelion, blending science fiction, psychological drama, mecha battles and existential questions. The story follows young pilots tasked with controlling the Evangelions, gigantic units used to battle mysterious enemies known as Angels.

Ayanami Rei is the pilot of Evangelion Unit-00 and one of the central characters in the saga. Reserved, silent and enigmatic, she plays a key role in the mysteries surrounding NERV, the Evangelions and the fate of Shinji Ikari.
