Origin and backstory of the characters (Lore)

Sonic the Hedgehog has been SEGA’s iconic mascot since his debut in 1991. A blue hedgehog capable of running at extraordinary speeds, Sonic travels across different worlds to thwart the plans of Dr Eggman, who regularly seeks to conquer the planet using his machines and armies of robots.

Miles “Tails” Prower is one of Sonic’s closest friends. This young two-tailed fox can spin his tails like propellers to fly and is also known for his intelligence and mechanical skills.

Knuckles the Echidna is the guardian of the Master Emerald on Angel Island. Initially portrayed as a rival to Sonic, he gradually becomes one of his closest allies. His physical strength and his ability to glide or scale walls make him a particularly formidable fighter.

Amy Rose is an energetic and determined echidna, recognisable by her pink colour and her powerful Piko Piko Hammer. Long characterised by her admiration for Sonic, she has established herself over the course of the games as an independent heroine and an important member of the group.
