Origin and world of the character
Doctor Eggman (historically known as Doctor Ivo Robotnik) is the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise, created by Japanese company Sega in 1991. This mad scientist with an IQ of 300 is obsessed with conquering the world and establishing his own technological empire, Eggmanland. To achieve his goals, he captures innocent animals to convert them into fighting robots (Badniks) and continually seeks to seize the powerful Chaos Emeralds. His technological plans are systematically thwarted by the supersonic speed of Sonic the hedgehog and his allies.
