Origin and universe of the character
Created by Gene Roddenberry in 1966, the original Star Trek series (Star Trek: The Original Series) follows the USS Enterprise’s exploration missions across the galaxy. The first officer and science officer Spock, a half-human, half-Vulcan character historically portrayed by Leonard Nimoy, remains famous for his unyielding logic and legendary composure. This figurine is directly inspired by the cult episode ‘Amok Time’ (Season 2). Under the influence of Pon Farr — an uncontrollable Vulcan biological cycle — Spock returns to his home planet, Vulcan, to fight for his right to marry in the traditional ritual combat to the death known as kal-if-fee. There, he finds himself forced to face his own captain, James T. Kirk, using a traditional bladed and weighted weapon called a Lirpa. This exclusive Funko Pop! figurine faithfully captures this iconic and dramatic moment in the history of science fiction.
