Ryu is one of the founding characters of Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise. A warrior wholly devoted to training, he travels the world in search of opponents who can help him progress and perfect his martial art.

His fighting style is based on Ansatsuken, a discipline he shares notably with his friend and rival Ken Masters. Ryu is famous for several techniques that have become iconic in the history of video games, such as the Hadoken, the Shoryuken and the Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.
