STREET FIGHTER - Ryu - Figure 15cm

Meet Ryu, one of Street Fighter’s most iconic fighters, with this 15 cm articulated figure from Hasbro. Inspired by his classic look, it allows you to recreate his signature fighting poses as well as his famous energy attack, the Hadoken.

Ryu wears his traditional white, sleeveless karategi, whose deliberately frayed edges emphasise his look as a wandering fighter. A black belt is tied around his waist, whilst his red headband and matching gloves complete this instantly recognisable outfit. His defined musculature, focused expression and bare feet faithfully capture his understated and disciplined style.

Thanks to its multiple joints, the figure can strike various offensive poses, including a karate guard or the stance used to unleash a Hadoken. It comes with a large translucent blue energy effect, mounted on a transparent stand to simulate the attack suspended in front of the figure.

Two interchangeable clenched fists are also included to vary the poses between close-quarters combat and energy blasts. The set is presented in a yellow and orange display box decorated with the Street Fighter logo and an illustration of Ryu, suitable for both display in its packaging and as a freestanding display.

Character background and lore

Ryu is a Japanese fighter who has dedicated his life to the study of martial arts. A pupil of Gouken alongside Ken Masters, he travels the world to face ever more powerful opponents and hone his technique. Unlike many tournament participants, he seeks neither fame nor wealth, but solely personal growth and an understanding of the true meaning of combat.

His style is based on Ansatsuken, a martial art combining direct strikes, throws and techniques utilising life energy. Among his most famous attacks are the Shoryuken, an upward uppercut; the Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, a spinning kick; and, above all, the Hadoken, a wave of energy projected from his hands. Ryu must also resist the Satsui no Hado, a dark force capable of increasing his power at the cost of his inner balance.
