Character background and lore
Created by scriptwriter Saki Hasemi and illustrator Kentaro Yabuki, Yui Kotegawa is a pupil at Sainan High School and an active member of the disciplinary committee. Known for her strict, unyielding nature and her fierce hatred of indecency, she spends much of her time reprimanding the protagonist, Rito Yuki, for his outlandish mishaps, as well as the alien antics of the Deviluke princesses.However, behind her stern and uncompromising façade, Yui hides a great deal of shyness, a deep kindness and secret feelings that she struggles to admit to herself.
