Character background and lore
Created by independent developer ZUN (Team Shanghai Alice), Reimu Hakurei is the official priestess of Hakurei Shrine, a Shinto shrine situated on the remote border between our world and the mystical dimension of Gensokyo. As the guardian of this barrier, Reimu’s main task is to maintain peace and resolve the numerous magical incidents caused by the Yokai (spirits and demons) that inhabit the region.Although blessed with exceptional innate talent—able to fly through the air and wield spiritual barriers or magical talismans—she nevertheless prefers to spend her days drinking tea in peace and quiet. Despite her sometimes nonchalant attitude and her chronic failure to make donations to the shrine, Reimu displays an unwavering sense of duty whenever the balance of Gensokyo is threatened. This figurine pays a heartfelt tribute to this central and timeless figure of the doujin universe. - *
