Origin and backstory of the characters (Lore)

The Toy Story saga follows a group of toys that come to life when humans aren’t looking. Led by Sheriff Woody and Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear, this community embarks on numerous adventures whilst facing the changes brought about by their owners’ childhoods.

Woody is a cloth sheriff who has long been considered Andy’s favourite toy. Loyal and protective, he constantly looks out for his companions. Buzz Lightyear, who was initially convinced he was a real space ranger, gradually becomes his best friend and one of the group’s key members.

Jessie is an energetic cowgirl from the same vintage toy range as Woody. She is accompanied by Pile-Poil, a faithful, enthusiastic horse who is particularly expressive despite not being able to speak.

In Toy Story 5, the classic toys must face a new reality marked by the growing role of electronic devices in children’s lives. Atlas and Snappy are among the new characters introduced in this adventure, expanding the saga’s universe and confronting Woody, Buzz and their friends with new forms of play.
