Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Based on the science fiction novel by H.G. Wells published in 1897 and adapted for the screen by James Whale in 1933 with actor Claude Rains, The Invisible Man (Dr Jack Griffin) is one of Universal's major monster figures. A brilliant scientist, Griffin discovers a chemical formula based on monocane that enables him to become completely invisible. However, his inability to reverse the process and the substance's side effects gradually alter his mental health, plunging him into megalomaniacal and criminal madness. The design of this figurine captures the tragic, mysterious appearance of the character draped in bandages, making a definitive entry in the visual history of fantasy cinema.
