Origin and background of the character
Kagetora is one of the most iconic and memorable animal companions in the Yaiba series, an action-adventure manga with a touch of humour created by the legendary Gosho Aoyama (the famous author of Detective Conan). Originally, this ferocious tiger lived in the wild jungle before crossing paths with the young and impetuous samurai Yaiba Kurogane. After testing his strength against him, Kagetora develops a deep loyalty to the boy and joins his motley crew on their quest across Japan to thwart the plans of the demon Takeshi Onimaru.Despite his imposing wildcat appearance, Kagetora proves to be a hilarious ally, often used as a mount by Yaiba and his friends, capable of expressing almost human emotions through his side-splitting facial expressions.
