Created by manga artist Makoto Raiku in 2001, Zatch Bell (Gash Bell in Japan) is one of a hundred demon children sent to Earth every thousand years to take part in a secret tournament to choose the next King of the Demon World. Suffering from amnesia upon his arrival, he meets Kiyomaro Takamine (Kiyo), a gifted but antisocial secondary school pupil.
