Combine the aesthetic of an Eastern warrior with a futuristic mechanical design with the CD-AS-01XM model kit, created by ZEN of Collectible. This commemorative edition reimagines the mecha in an elegant white and gold livery, whilst retaining its heavily armed silhouette and numerous display options.

The model depicts an imposing mechanical warrior inspired by traditional East Asian armour and weaponry. The white panels are accented with gold parts, fully painted at the factory, as well as red and dark details that highlight the internal structure and the various layers of armour. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 21 cm tall.

The kit is based on a pre-assembled, articulated internal frame made from a metal alloy. This frame enhances the model’s stability and allows for a variety of combat poses to be recreated, despite the bulk of the armour and weapons. The external components are mainly made from ABS and POM, whilst certain articulated or structural parts are made from die-cast metal.

The armament includes, in particular, a long halberd, a sword, an axe and a round shield. Interchangeable hands, connecting pieces and articulated support arms allow for a variety of configurations and enable the weapons to be secured around the model. A display stand is provided to stabilise the most dynamic poses.

The box set contains 29 sprues for the main body, four sprues for the display stand, an articulated alloy frame and two sheets of water-slide decals. As the gold parts are pre-painted, a detailed finish can be achieved without a full repaint, although modellers can add their own effects, shading and markings.

Origin and background of the model (Lore)

The Realm Patroller Dragon Halberd, also known as Junkaishi – Ryugeki, belongs to the original mechanical universe developed by ZEN of Collectible for its CangDao range. This collection combines references to Chinese history, mythology and traditional symbols with a contemporary science-fiction aesthetic.

The term ‘Realm Patroller’ evokes a guardian tasked with patrolling the borders of a territory or a world. His imposing armour, shield and long halberd thus give him the appearance of an elite sentinel capable of both protecting a domain and carrying out offensive missions.

The name Dragon Halberd refers directly to his primary weapon. The halberd occupies an important place in Chinese military imagery and typically combines a long shaft with a blade designed to strike, slice or keep the opponent at bay.

The model’s design fuses this ancient warrior silhouette with an advanced robotic structure. The layered armour plates are reminiscent of traditional armour, whilst the metal chassis, mechanical joints and modular mounts place the figure in a futuristic setting.

The white and gold colour scheme of this commemorative edition reinforces its ceremonial appearance. It gives the Realm Patroller the air of a commander or imperial guardian, whilst highlighting the intricate ornamentation and lines of its armour.
