Origin and world of the character
Patch is one of the main characters from the Disney Studios animated classic 101 Dalmatians, released in 1961 and adapted from the novel of the same name by Dodie Smith. The son of Pongo and Perdita, he can be distinguished from his brothers and sisters by the large black spot around his right eye, from which he takes his original name. Characterised by his fearless, scrappy temperament and his admiration for the television dog Hurricane, he is constantly trying to assert himself among his many siblings. The story revolves around the puppies' abduction by the henchmen of Cruella d'Enfer, a woman obsessed with creating a Dalmatian fur coat, and the rescue mission orchestrated by the local animals to free them.
