Harness the power of the God of Thunder with this S.H.Figuarts Thor figure, designed by Bandai Spirits and Tamashii Nations based on his appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. This edition recreates the new outfit worn by the Asgardian hero in the film and comes complete with his two most iconic weapons: Mjolnir and Stormbreaker.

Thor is depicted in a brand-new costume comprising several newly sculpted elements. His armour combines dark plates, metallic finishes and a fabric cape, lending greater naturalism to poses and action scenes. Tamashii Nations emphasises that this appearance corresponds to his most recent outfit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The figure comes with Mjolnir, whose cracks are reproduced through the paintwork. This detail reflects the hammer’s condition following its destruction by Hela and its subsequent restoration. Stormbreaker, the great axe forged to face Thanos, is also included to allow for a variety of combat set-ups.

Three types of interchangeable hands are provided for each hand, making a total of three pairs. These allow Thor to be displayed with clenched fists, open hands or holding one of his weapons. The numerous joints in the S.H.Figuarts range allow for dynamic poses whilst maintaining the character’s realistic proportions.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Thor Odinson is the son of Odin and Frigga, rulers of Asgard. An Asgardian warrior endowed with superhuman strength and longevity, he commands lightning and storms, earning him the title of God of Thunder.

Initially impulsive and hungry for glory, Thor is stripped of his powers by Odin after provoking a conflict with the Frost Giants. Exiled to Earth, he gradually learns humility and the meaning of sacrifice before proving himself worthy of Mjolnir once more.

Thor then became one of the founding members of the Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Alongside Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, he helped defend Earth against Loki and the Chitauri army.

His iconic weapon, Mjolnir, is an enchanted hammer that can only be lifted by someone deemed worthy. Among other things, it enables Thor to channel his powers, fly and unleash powerful electrical attacks. Marvel also describes the weapon as being able to be summoned directly into the hand of its bearer.

Mjolnir is destroyed by Hela during the events of *Thor: Ragnarok*. Thor then realises that his powers do not stem solely from his weapon and learns to control lightning directly.

Faced with the threat posed by Thanos, Thor travels to Nidavellir to obtain a new weapon. The dwarf Eitri then forges Stormbreaker, a massive axe capable of channelling his energy and opening the Bifrost.

Thor uses Stormbreaker during the Battle of Wakanda and then in the final confrontation with Thanos. Mjolnir is subsequently restored and gradually returns to his arsenal, allowing the character to wield both of his iconic weapons.

After battling Gorr the God Butcher, Thor continues his role as protector of the various realms. He remains one of the most powerful and experienced Avengers, capable of taking on both alien armies and cosmic threats.
