Experience the Black Warrior’s uncontrollable rage with this articulated S.H.Figuarts figure of Guts in Berserker Armour – Heat of Passion Battle Ver., designed by Bandai Spirits as part of the Tamashii Nations range. Supervised by Studio Gaga, this new edition depicts Guts under the influence of the Beast of Darkness, with a finish specially inspired by the intensity of the manga’s battle scenes.

The figure captures Guts’ beast-like silhouette when the Berserker Armour takes complete possession of his body. His helmet takes on an elongated shape reminiscent of a predator’s skull, whilst the black and metallic plates of the armour feature a more aggressive colour scheme and shades simulating wear and tear, dust and the glints of a particularly violent clash.

Standing approximately 16 cm tall, Guts features numerous points of articulation, allowing for the recreation of both human-like and much more animal-like poses. The body’s design aims to preserve natural proportions despite the bulk of the armour, whilst a pair of interchangeable legs allows you to recreate the crouched, four-legged stance associated with the Beast of Darkness.

The figure comes with the imposing Dragon Slayer, the colossal sword used by Guts against humans, demons and the Apostles. This Battle version also includes an interchangeable cannon arm and a large firing effect supported by a dedicated base. A pair of ground impact effects allows you to showcase the power of his movements or attacks.

A flexible fabric cape completes the set. Its flexibility allows it to be adjusted to match the figure’s posture and accentuate the sense of movement during charge or combat scenes. Several interchangeable hands are provided to adapt the sword grip and accommodate different display set-ups.

Character background and lore

Guts is a mercenary who grew up on the battlefields before joining the Band of the Hawk, led by Griffith. Thanks to his strength, stamina and mastery of oversized swords, he quickly became one of the group’s most formidable fighters.

Following the Eclipse and the destruction of the Band of the Hawk, Guts embarks on a quest for vengeance against Griffith and the Apostles. He then becomes the Black Warrior, travelling through a world ravaged by astral creatures with his immense Dragon Slayer sword, his mechanical arm and an arsenal specially designed to fight monsters.

The Berserker Armour is a magical relic that allows its wearer to ignore pain and normal physical limitations. It sets broken bones and forces the body to continue fighting, but does not actually heal wounds. Prolonged use can therefore lead the wearer to destroy themselves without realising it.

When Guts loses control, the armour takes on a form resembling the head of a beast and unleashes the Beast of Darkness, a manifestation of his anger, hatred and most violent instincts. In this state, he fights with extreme ferocity and sometimes moves on all fours, like a predator.

The Dragon Slayer was originally a sword so heavy and disproportionate that no ordinary warrior could wield it. After slaying countless supernatural creatures, its blade became imbued with their energy and gained the ability to wound beings from the astral realm.

The Heat of Passion Battle Ver. seeks to capture precisely that moment when Guts is no longer merely a man in armour, but a destructive force almost entirely consumed by his rage. The projectile effects, ground impacts and battle-worn colouring help to recreate the violence characteristic of Berserk’s most intense battles.
