Character background and universe (Lore)

Tōshirō Hitsugaya is the captain of the 10th Division of the Gotei 13 and one of the youngest Shinigami to have attained this rank. Despite his youthful appearance, he possesses exceptional talent and wields Hyōrinmaru, a Zanpakutō specialising in the manipulation of ice.

His Bankai, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru, covers part of his body in ice and grants him, amongst other things, wings, icy armour and a significantly enhanced command of the cold. This form evolves gradually over the course of the series.

During the Thousand-Year Blood War, Hitsugaya finally reveals that his Bankai possesses a complete form. When the last ice petals disappear, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru reaches full maturity and temporarily transforms Hitsugaya’s body into that of an adult so that he can withstand its full power.

In this state, his freezing abilities become considerably more dangerous: he can instantly freeze large targets and neutralise the properties of whatever he traps in the ice. This form plays a particularly important role during his battle against Gerard Valkyrie.

This POP! Absolute Bankai Hitsugaya #2576 therefore depicts one of the 10th Division Captain’s most accomplished forms and is a natural addition to Funko’s new Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War figures.
