Origin and world of the character
The character of Flash McQueen (Lightning McQueen in the original version) is the absolute protagonist of the animated film Cars, directed by John Lasseter for Pixar Studios and released in cinemas in 2006. The plot takes place in a world populated entirely by anthropomorphic vehicles. Flash McQueen is an arrogant, egocentric young racing car, obsessed with glory, sponsors and the prestigious Piston Cup trophy. His life is turned upside down when he accidentally gets lost on the legendary Route 66 and finds himself stranded in the forgotten little town of Radiator Springs.
