Origin and character background (Lore)

Dancouga is the main super robot in *Dancouga: Super Beast Machine God*, a Japanese animated series launched in the 1980s. It is the ultimate weapon of the team tasked with defending Earth against the alien forces of the Muge Zorbados Empire.

The robot is formed by combining several Beast Machines, each piloted by a member of the team. These machines can take on different forms and utilise a system linked to their pilots’ animal instincts before uniting to form Dancouga.

The transformation into Dancouga allows the power of all the units to be concentrated into a single super robot, capable of taking on far more formidable opponents. This combination of military technology, animal instincts and classic super robot elements is one of the series’ key features.
