Character background and universe (Lore)

Elemental is set in Element City, a metropolis where inhabitants made of fire, water, earth and air live together. The story mainly follows Flam, a young woman made of fire, and Flack, a water element, whose meeting challenges their assumptions about the city and the relationships between different elements.

Flack’s personality is as fluid as his appearance. Pixar describes him as an emotionally transparent, empathetic and compassionate character. He readily expresses his feelings, cries freely and spontaneously seeks to understand the people he meets.

He works as an inspector for the city. His encounter with Flam occurs when a damaged pipe causes him to burst into the Lumen family shop. Noting several building code violations, he draws up a report that could lead to the shop’s closure, triggering the initial conflict between the two characters.

Flack nevertheless agrees to help Flam identify the source of the water problems affecting the Fire district. Their investigation takes them through various areas of Element City and leads them to discover that the city’s infrastructure does not protect all its residents equally.

As their investigation progresses, their contrasting personalities begin to complement one another. Flam constantly tries to contain her emotions and the power of her fire, whilst Flack expresses them openly. His kind regard gradually prompts the young woman to question her own aspirations and the future her family has envisaged for her.

The relationship between fire and water seems impossible at first, as their contact risks extinguishing Flam or causing Flack to evaporate. Their growing closeness thus becomes the film’s central symbol: two people from different communities can forge a bond despite the physical, familial and cultural barriers that separate them.

This Funko figurine highlights Flack’s welcoming nature rather than the more dramatic scenes from her story. Her broad smile, crossed arms and professional outfit portray a warm, attentive character who is ready to accompany Flam on a new adventure.
