Character background and lore

Kento Nanami is a Grade 1 exorcist and a former student of the Tokyo Exorcism School. After leaving the world of exorcism to work in a conventional company, he eventually returned to his former profession, ultimately deciding that it was more in line with his beliefs. The anime’s official website describes him as a former employee who became a Grade 1 exorcist and as a former student younger than Satoru Gojo.

Nanami stands out for his extremely pragmatic nature, his seriousness and his sense of responsibility. Whilst some exorcists approach their profession with a touch of eccentricity, he regards missions as a proper job, with a discipline and rigour that are central to his identity.

His fighting style relies in particular on his Ratio Technique, which allows him to identify a weak point by symbolically dividing his target according to a precise ratio before striking. He generally fights using a blunt weapon wrapped in cloth, reinforced by his occult energy.

His relationship with Yuji Itadori also plays an important role in his development. Nanami acts as an adult and experienced figure to the young exorcist, with a much more down-to-earth approach than that of Satoru Gojo.

This Puchish! version therefore offers an amusing contrast to the character’s usually very serious demeanour, transforming Kento Nanami into a cute little 12 cm mascot.
