Origin and world of the character
Stitch (originally named Experiment 626) is the co-star of Disney Studios' animated feature film Lilo & Stitch, released in 2002. Created illegally by alien scientist Jumba Jookiba, this genetic organism was originally designed to be virtually indestructible and programmed to wreak destruction. After escaping from its space detention centre, it crash-lands on Earth, on the island of Kauai in the Hawaiian archipelago. Taken in by a young orphan girl called Lilo, who adopts him thinking he is a dog, he gradually learns the notion of family through the Hawaiian concept of "Ohana". This thematic variation in costume incorporates a festive aesthetic linked to Halloween celebrations, with Stitch adopting a playful little demon outfit to match his mischievous temperament.
