Origin and backstory of the character
Created in 1974 by Roy Thomas, Len Wein and John Romita Sr., Wolverine (whose real name is James “Logan” Howlett) is one of the most famous, brutal and beloved members of the X-Men. Endowed with an accelerated healing factor, hyper-developed senses and a skeleton entirely coated in adamantium—including sharp retractable claws—he constantly navigates between his wild animal instincts and his sense of honour. The backdrop to this display set recreates the iconic cover of X-Men #4 from 1992, written by John Byrne and illustrated by the legendary Jim Lee. This historic issue marks the introduction of the fearsome Omega Red and explores Logan’s mysterious past with the Cold War-era team, Team X. This product stands as an absolute centrepiece for celebrating the Golden Age of Marvel comics.
