Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Spider-Hulk's existence dates back to the story arc of the comic Web of Spider-Man #70, published in 1990. During a titanic confrontation with the Hulk, Peter Parker is accidentally struck by an experimental device capable of transferring bio-electric energy. Overcome by gamma radiation lodged in the blood of the Jade Colossus, Spider-Man undergoes a terrifying physical metamorphosis. He keeps his iconic costume but sees his muscle mass increase exponentially, inheriting the Green Titan's destructive rage and immeasurable strength. This temporary transformation forces the Weaver to fight against his own primitive instincts to regain control of his mind.
