Character background and universe (Lore)

Venom is one of the most iconic characters in the Spider-Man universe. He emerged from the union between an alien symbiote and Eddie Brock, a journalist driven by a deep-seated grudge against Peter Parker.

The symbiote had previously been bonded to Spider-Man, who used it in the form of his famous black suit before discovering its living nature and its influence on his behaviour. After being rejected by Peter, the symbiote found a new host in Eddie Brock, who shared his resentment.

The Amazing Spider-Man #346 marks an important period in Venom’s evolution as a recurring adversary of Spider-Man. His imposing appearance, his abilities – which are similar to Peter’s – and his ability to evade the Spider-Sense make him a particularly dangerous foe.

Over time, however, Venom evolves beyond his simple role as a villain and sometimes becomes an anti-hero, or even a protector. This POP!
