The History and Lore of the Item

Nadeko Sengoku is a shy and deeply reserved young girl, a childhood friend of the protagonist Koyomi Araragi’s sister, for whom she harbours a secret and obsessive love. In the ‘Nadeko Snake’ arc, her life is turned upside down when she falls victim to a terrible snake curse (a spirit), born of a classmate’s jealousy. Marked by mystical scales that encase her body, she must fight for her psychological and physical survival. Behind her air of eternal innocent victimhood and her cute appearance lies a far darker, more complex and multifaceted personality, which will be revealed in spectacular fashion throughout the story’s various seasons.
