Miss Piggy is depicted wearing a large tricorn hat, with long blonde hair and several layered striped skirts. She is also holding a sword, emphasising the character’s combative and theatrical nature when she appears in the role of Benjamina Gunn.

Character background and lore

Miss Piggy is one of the most iconic figures in The Muppets. She stands out for her outgoing personality, her keen sense of fashion, her self-confidence and her ability to switch very quickly from an elegant demeanour to a much more energetic reaction.

An artist, singer and actress, she is constantly seeking the limelight. Her tumultuous relationship with Kermit the Frog is also one of the best-known storylines in the Muppets’ universe.

In *The Muppets’ Treasure Island*, the Muppet cast offer a free adaptation of the protagonists from Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel. The story follows Jim Hawkins, who discovers a map leading to Captain Flint’s treasure and sets sail on the Hispaniola, commanded by Captain Smollett, played by Kermit.

Miss Piggy plays Benjamina Gunn, a former lover of Captain Smollett who was abandoned on Treasure Island. Her character takes on the role of Ben Gunn from the original novel, whilst being reimagined to match Miss Piggy’s romantic, flamboyant and domineering personality.

When she is reunited with Smollett, Benjamina reproaches him for having abandoned her, but their relationship quickly regains a prominent place in the adventure. She also takes part in the confrontation with Long John Silver and his pirates.

Her costume, consisting of a tricorn hat, striped skirts and a sword, thus combines her usual elegance with the identity of a maritime warrior. This Pop! No. 1804 faithfully recreates this version of Miss Piggy – at once a diva, an adventurer and the heroine of the adaptation.
