Ratatouille — Disney POP! No. 1796 Émile with mushroom
Add a touch of culinary delight to your Disney and Pixar collection with this POP! Disney No. 1796 figurine featuring Émile, Rémy’s cheerful brother from Ratatouille. Designed by Funko, it depicts the friendly brown rat proudly holding a mushroom, ready to share a new culinary discovery with his brother.
Émile is depicted with his round silhouette, brown fur and broad beige snout. His large pink ears, small dark nose and sculpted whiskers retain the key features of his appearance in the film, whilst adopting the characteristic proportions of the POP! range.
The figurine holds a light-coloured mushroom between its front paws. This accessory directly references one of Rémy’s earliest culinary experiments, when he combined different ingredients to create new flavours. Émile is always keen to sample his brother’s creations, even if he doesn’t necessarily share his high culinary standards.
His upright posture and peaceful expression reflect his laid-back nature. Unlike Rémy, who carefully analyses flavours and ingredient combinations, Émile enjoys practically anything that can be eaten. Funko depicts him holding a mushroom, highlighting his eagerness to share a new bite with his brother.
Made from vinyl, the figurine is approximately 10.2 cm tall. It comes in an illustrated window box bearing the number 1796 and can be displayed with or without its packaging.

Character background and lore
Émile is Rémy’s younger brother and one of the members of the rat colony led by their father, Django. Pixar describes him as a plump, kind-hearted rat who is perfectly content with his lot, loving life and everything that can be eaten, whether the food is actually appetising or not.
His behaviour contrasts sharply with that of Rémy. Thanks to an exceptionally keen sense of smell and taste, Rémy refuses to make do with the scraps consumed by the rest of the colony. He dreams of becoming a chef and is interested in the quality of ingredients, culinary techniques and flavour combinations.
Émile does not always understand the subtleties of this passion, but he willingly agrees to take part in his brother’s experiments. He regularly acts as his taster and accompanies him on several risky expeditions to retrieve ingredients from human homes. Pixar emphasises that he is always ready to support Rémy in his outlandish ideas or to cheer him up.
At the start of the film, Rémy has him taste various combinations of foods to help him understand that flavours can change when combined. Émile enjoys food, but he is far less analytical: whilst Rémy seeks a precise balance, his brother is generally content as long as the result tastes good.
When Rémy finds himself separated from his colony and discovers Gusteau’s restaurant in Paris, Émile becomes one of his main links to his family. His arrival in the kitchens is then followed by that of many other rats, drawn by the food and the opportunities offered by the restaurant.
Despite his love of food and his lack of discretion, Émile remains deeply loyal. He supports Rémy’s dream without judging him and helps him when the colony finally agrees to take part in preparing the dishes. He also appears alongside Rémy in the short film *Our Friend the Rat*, in which the two brothers recount the history of relations between humans and rodents.
The mushroom held by this POP! figurine effectively sums up their relationship. It evokes both Rémy’s culinary curiosity and Émile’s role as an enthusiastic taster, always ready to accompany his brother on a new culinary adventure.
