Origin and character background
Metal Sonic 3.0 made his first notable appearance in the SEGA universe in 2007 in the racing and action game Sonic Rivals 2 on the PlayStation Portable (PSP). Unlike the classic Metal Sonic created by Dr Eggman, this 3.0 version is a sophisticated robotic replica designed by the Machiavellian Dr Eggman Nega, hailing from an alternate dimension. Boasting a particularly aggressive black and bright yellow design, this robot is sent to perform rituals and awaken the Ifrit, a destructive interdimensional entity. Combining phenomenal speed, raw power and undeniable rarity, it is programmed to outdo the blue hedgehog and neutralise his rivals, embodying one of the franchise’s most advanced and memorable technological threats.
