Recreate the famous exploration vessel from Star Trek: Voyager with this model ofthe U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 from Revell. Built to a scale of 1/670, this kit reproduces the Intrepid-class vessel commanded by Captain Kathryn Janeway during her long journey through the Delta Quadrant.

The model consists of 67 plastic parts to be assembled. Once completed, it measures approximately 51.4 cm in length, 20.1 cm in width and 8.3 cm in height, offering a size large enough to showcase the Voyager’s streamlined silhouette and numerous exterior details.

The kit notably reproduces the main sections of the saucer, the secondary hull and the two warp nacelles. The nacelle pylons are swivelling, allowing them to be angled upwards to replicate the configuration adopted by the ship during high-speed travel.

Several transparent parts are included to recreate the warp field generators, illuminated areas and various technical features of the ship. An extensive sheet of decals allows you to add the registration number NCC-74656, the Starfleet markings and surface details.

Origin and background of the starship (Lore)

The U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 is the flagship of the television series Star Trek: Voyager. It is an Intrepid-class vessel designed for scientific exploration, diplomatic missions and rapid long-distance travel.

In 2371, the Voyager came under the command of Captain Kathryn Janeway. Its first mission was to pursue a Maquis vessel into a dangerous region of space known as the Badlands.

Both crews are suddenly transported to the Delta Quadrant by a powerful entity known as the Provider. The Voyager thus finds itself some 70,000 light-years from Earth, with no immediate means of returning to Federation space.

Following the destruction of the Maquis vessel, its survivors join the Starfleet crew. Janeway must therefore bring together people from formerly opposing groups and mould them into a crew capable of facing a journey expected to last several decades.

Key members include Commander Chakotay, Lieutenant B’Elanna Torres, Lieutenant Tom Paris, Ensign Harry Kim, Security Chief Tuvok and the emergency holographic doctor. The ship also takes on board Neelix, Kes and, later, the former Borg member Seven of Nine.

The Voyager is equipped with several advanced technologies, including bio-neural gel packs, variable-geometry warp nacelles and a computer system adapted for long-duration missions. Its pylons retract before entering warp, a visual feature reproduced by the moving parts of this model.

During its journey, the crew discovers numerous unknown civilisations and faces off against the Kazon, the Hirogens, the species of Fluidic Space and the Borg Collective. The lack of direct support from Starfleet forces Janeway and her officers to constantly repair, adapt and improve the ship.

Despite the distance, the Voyager continues to uphold Starfleet’s fundamental principles: to explore, establish peaceful contact and protect the populations they encounter. These values are regularly put to the test by a lack of resources and the need to bring the crew back alive to the Alpha Quadrant.

After a seven-year journey, the Voyager finally manages to find its way back to Earth. Its return makes the ship and its crew symbols of perseverance, cooperation and exploration within the Star Trek universe.
