Recreate Din Djarin’s iconic ship with this model kit of the Razor Crest, inspired by the Star Wars: The Mandalorian series. Produced by Revell in 1/72 scale, this kit reproduces the old patrol vessel used by the bounty hunter as a means of transport, accommodation and mobile base during his missions in the Outer Rim.

The model consists of 101 plastic parts to be assembled. Once completed, it measures approximately 33.7 cm in length, 22.7 cm in width and 16.2 cm in height, offering a size large enough to showcase the ship’s sturdy hull and two large side engines.

The kit includes a detailed cockpit along with a Mandalorian minifigure. The large rear loading ramp is movable, allowing it to be displayed open to suggest boarding operations or closed to preserve the Razor Crest’s external silhouette.

The landing gear can be fitted in either the extended or retracted position. The model can therefore be displayed on the ground or configured as if in flight. A sheet of decals and a multilingual illustrated instruction booklet are included to assist with assembly and finishing.

This traditional model kit requires the use of glue and paint, which are not included. Revell classifies it as difficulty level 3 and recommends it for ages 10 and over, whilst noting that this level already requires precise gluing and detailed painting.

Origin and background of the ship (Lore)

The Razor Crest is a former military patrol vessel dating from before the creation of the Galactic Empire. Sturdy and capable of operating far from the major trade routes, it becomes the personal ship of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin.

Din uses it to travel the Outer Rim in search of his targets. The ship serves as his means of transport, accommodation, armoury and detention cell all in one. It features, in particular, ample storage space for weapons as well as a system for keeping certain prisoners frozen in carbonite.

Din’s life is turned upside down when a mission requires him to capture a small Force-sensitive creature, later known as Grogu. Rather than hand the child over to the remnants of the Empire, the Mandalorian chooses to protect him and sets out to find his people.

The Razor Crest thus becomes the mobile home of the new clan formed by Din and Grogu. The two companions travel aboard it between different planets, meeting new allies and attempting to evade the Imperial forces seeking to exploit the child’s powers.

Its exterior bears witness to its owner’s many missions. The metal hull shows signs of wear, repairs and impact damage, whilst its large cargo hold allows it to carry goods, prisoners or the equipment needed by a bounty hunter.

Although it is not as fast or as modern as some military craft, the Razor Crest proves to be particularly resilient. Its powerful engines, armament and robust construction enable it to survive numerous battles, chases and rough landings.

The ship is eventually destroyed on Tython by Moff Gideon’s forces. Its loss deprives Din Djarin of his main refuge and marks the end of an important period of his journey with Grogu.

This Revell model reproduces the version of the Razor Crest seen in the original series, complete with its retractable ramp, configurable landing gear and cockpit occupied by the Mandalorian. It thus differs from item number 259229, which is dedicated to the new film-style livery from *The Mandalorian & Grogu*.
