Meet Eiki Shiki, Yamaxanadu, the judge of the dead in the Touhou Project universe, with this Noodle Stopper figurine produced by FuRyu. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, this figurine depicts Eiki in a seated pose specially adapted to the range’s concept. The character is seated on a dark red chair and wears her characteristic outfit in shades of dark blue, white and red. This interpretation is based on an original illustration by Nonoko.

The sculpture captures the key features that identify Eiki, notably her green hair, her headdress and the staff she holds before her, a symbol of her role as a judge. Character background and lore

Eiki Shiki, Yamaxanadu appears notably in *Touhou Kaeidzuka ~ Phantasmagoria of Flower View*, the ninth official instalment in the *Touhou Project* series, developed by Team Shanghai Alice and released in 2005. In the game, she holds the title of ‘Highest Judge of the Court of Paradise’ and intervenes at the conclusion of the investigation into the strange flowering affecting Gensokyo.

Eiki is a Yama, a judge tasked with assessing the deeds of the dead after they have passed into the afterlife. Her official profile states that she possesses the ability to clearly distinguish between good and evil. Her decisions take into account the actions and circumstances of each soul’s life, and her judgement cannot be contested once it has been handed down. Yamaxanadu is more closely associated with her title or role than with her personal name.

She is also known for delivering lengthy moral lectures to the living in order to urge them to correct their faults before they die. Komachi Onozuka, the shinigami responsible for guiding souls across the River Sanzu, works under her authority. This Noodle Stopper figurine therefore reimagines a typically solemn figure from the Touhou Project in a more compact form, whilst retaining the key symbols associated with her role as a judge.
