Do you know Marvel?

The Marvel Universe has existed since the early 1940s and originally originated in comic books. All the characters in this universe, such as Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Wolverine and many others, have evolved in the Marvel universe over the years. This universe is a fictional world in which heroes must often save the Earth by fighting powerful enemies.

What is the Marvel universe?

Originally, being comic books, Marvel is also well known for its great cartoonists, including Jack Kirby, who created Captain America and the Fantastic Four, but also the Hulk or Thor with his colleague Stan Lee.

This universe is mind-bogglingly complex, with 5,000 characters, and above all it tells stories of superheroes versus super-villains, in order to save the world. Among the antagonists, the most famous are certainly Loki, Apocalypse or Green Goblin.

These comics have been so successful that they have been repeatedly adapted into films by Marvel Studios (acquired by Walt Disney more recently), often breaking box-office records.

reasons to love the Marvel universe and its heroes

The first and most obvious reason to love the heroes of the Marvel universe is because they allow us to escape into a sometimes frightening world to admire their courage and determination to make good triumph! Since the birth of these various heroes, they have gone beyond their fictional universe to help their fans see life in a positive light - a real lesson in the determination we should all have to achieve our goals. In addition, the stories of some of Marvel's heroes relate historical facts of our history during troubled times in history like with Captain America, created in 1940, present during World War II.

Another reason is that it is easy to identify with our Marvel heroes. Although some are 'super' by nature, often superheroes are ordinary people who undergo a transformation through an external element to become extraordinary people.

On top of that, they experience everyday problems that any human being could experience: heart problems, poverty, loss of a loved one, problems at work, and a real concern for their identity through their second face: the hero.

Finally, it cannot be denied that the Marvel universe has been, and still is today, a source of inspiration for many people. We can think of Jeff Koons or Andy Warhol, superheroes have inspired many artists and are today a reference to pop culture.

Marvel's cult characters

We can't talk about Marvel without talking about some of its most popular characters!

  • Spider-Man: It is impossible today not to know Spider-Man. Everyone knows the adventures of Peter Parker, the teenager who was bitten by a radioactive spider, which had the effect of modifying his DNA and this allowed him to acquire arachnid powers.
  • Thor: His character is straight out of Norse mythology and is a god with a magic hammer, which gave him super powers. But his character is not just about his hammer, this hero also has superhuman strength. Like many other Marvel heroes, Thor also has his own problems, in his case, they are family related as his greatest enemy is actually his half-brother, Loki, who is particularly fond of conflict.
  • Hulk: The Hulk is actually Dr Bruce Banner, the Green Titan became one of the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Universe after being exposed to gamma rays during an atomic explosion which now gives him the ability to transform into a giant green monster when he is in a fit of rage.
  • Captain America: Dedicated to his country, the young and frail Steve Rogers joins the army and is used as a guinea pig to test a serum that increases his strength tenfold. The young man was then transformed into an indestructible soldier. His American flag costume is accompanied by an extremely strong shield which he uses to protect himself from his many enemies.

The list goes on and on with Wolverine, Black Panther and the Fantastic Four. Discover all our products around the Marvel universe in our action figure shop. And if you like other universes, you might also want to check out our Star Wars or Pokémon shop!
