A true centrepiece of the range, the M61A5 is a heavy battle tank ofthe Earth Federation Ground Force, instantly recognisable by its imposing turret fitted with two 155 mm main guns. The 1/35 scale reproduction showcases the vehicle’s various armour plates, hatches, optical devices, external equipment and mechanical details. 

The model features flexible belt-type tracks, assembled using metal pins, as well as numerous additional parts designed to enhance the model’s realism. Bandai provides, in particular, photo-etched metal parts, cables, transparent parts and various accessories. The main parts are moulded in several colours to facilitate assembly and painting. 

The tank comes with three 1/35-scale figures, allowing you to create a realistic diorama scene and put the vehicle’s impressive dimensions into perspective. The figures depicted are Federico Czariano, Francis Marion and Marco San Rosario, members of the Federation’s forces attached to the Semovente unit. 

Several hatches can be displayed in the open position, whilst the turret structure and the numerous armour panels offer a wide range of finishing options. Particular attention has also been paid to surface textures, panels, fastenings and anti-slip details, making this an excellent base for enthusiasts of painting, weathering and military dioramas.

The M61A5 is a development of the Type 61, the Federation’s main land combat tank before and during the One-Year War. This version features an extended chassis with six road wheels and considerable firepower thanks to its two 155 mm smoothbore guns. Despite the advent of Mobile Suits, the M61A5 tanks continue to play a vital role in the Federation’s ground forces, where their concentrated firepower can pose a serious threat even to Zeon’s machines. 

The name ‘Semovente’ Phantom Element refers to a Federation unit linked to the events of the Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO universe. The kit associates the vehicle with Federico Czariano, Francis Marion and Marco San Rosario, and perfectly illustrates the philosophy of the U.C. Hard Graph range: to portray the One Year War not only through the gigantic Mobile Suits, but also from the perspective of the soldiers and conventional vehicles engaged on the ground.
