Relive one of the most iconic ground campaigns from Mobile Suit Gundam with the Ramba Ral Commando Set, a detailed 1/35 scale model from Bandai Spirits’ U.C. Hard Graph range. This collection brings the Universal Century into the world of traditional military modelling, this time showcasing Ramba Ral and the members of his special unit from the Principality of Zeon. The set includes six 1/35 scale figures. It features Ramba Ral, Crowley Hamon, Clamp and Zeygan, accompanied by two Zeon soldiers. The figures are moulded in multi-colour and are particularly detailed for their scale, with careful attention paid to the uniforms, facial expressions and individual equipment. 

The centrepiece of this set is an impressive 1/35-scale replica of the MS-06Je Zaku II’s head. Far more than just a decorative element, it features a detailed internal structure with various mechanical components visible beneath the armour plates. The mono-eye is integrated into this structure and can be positioned, whilst the external elements feature textures reminiscent of the cast metal parts of the actual Mobile Suit. 

This design also allows the head to be displayed in a partially disassembled or damaged state to create a maintenance scene or a battlefield diorama. The level of detail in the internal framework perfectly illustrates the U.C. Hard Graph philosophy, which aims to depict Gundam machines as genuine military equipment. 

The set also includes a B.M.C. Z78/2 military motorbike on the same scale, which can be displayed alongside the Zeygan. It completes the squad and allows you to build a diorama depicting the movements or preparations of Ramba Ral’s forces prior to an operation. 

Numerous accessories further enhance the display possibilities: pistols, rifles, a sniper rifle, spare magazines, canteens and Zaku machine-gun casings can be arranged around the figures and the Mobile Suit’s head. A sheet of water-slide decals is also provided to reproduce the finest markings and details. 

Designed more as a military model kit than a traditional Gunpla, this model requires more meticulous assembly. Bandai specifically states that glue is required for certain parts. Painting, washes and weathering techniques will then allow you to fully showcase the intricate details of the figures, the motorbike and the mechanical features of the Zaku II.

Ramba Ral is a veteran officer of the Principality of Zeon sent to Earth to pursue and destroy the White Base following the death of Garma Zabi. An experienced and charismatic fighter, he commands an independent unit made up of particularly loyal soldiers. Accompanied notably by Crowley Hamon, he faces off against Amuro Ray and the RX-78-2 Gundam on several occasions, becoming one of the most memorable adversaries in the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.

The Ramba Ral Commando Set captures this human dimension of the conflict by depicting Zeon’s soldiers alongside a Zaku II head on the same scale. This direct juxtaposition of the characters with the gigantic dimensions of the Mobile Suit perfectly illustrates the concept behind the U.C.
