Immerse yourself in the military world of Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket with the Code Name “Cyclops” Set, a 1/35 scale model from Bandai’s U.C. Hard Graph range. This collection focuses on the soldiers, vehicles and military equipment of the Universal Century, with a realistic approach particularly suited to diorama-building.

This set features the famous Cyclops Team, a special forces unit of the Principality of Zeon. It comprises six 1/35 scale figures, depicting several members of the unit as well as a young civilian, all complete with their equipment and weapons. The characters featured include Hardie Steiner, Mikhail Kaminsky, Andy Strauss, Gabriel Ramirez Garcia and James Wong, allowing you to recreate a realistic ground operation scene. 

The centrepiece of the set is the PVN.3/2 Sauropelta, a light mobility vehicle used by Zeon’s ground forces. Its futuristic design retains the proportions and general configuration of a light all-terrain military vehicle, whilst incorporating the characteristic technological aesthetic of the Universal Century. The model features detailed moulding of the chassis, cockpit, external equipment and various mechanical components. 

The Sauropelta also features several interesting functional details for diorama display: the front wheels can be steered, whilst the front bonnet can be opened to reveal the spare wheel. Two of the figures can be seated inside the vehicle, allowing for a variety of diorama set-ups. 

Bandai supplies the moulded parts in several colours, as well as a sheet of water-slide decals. One of the set’s most distinctive features is the reproduction of a digital camouflage pattern for one of the soldiers’ uniforms. The instructions provide guidelines for cutting out and positioning the different sections of the pattern on the figure. 

Thanks to its 1/35 scale and its approach akin to traditional military model-making, this kit offers numerous possibilities for customisation. Painting, shading, weathering effects and patina will, in particular, enhance the realism of the vehicle, uniforms and accessories.

The Cyclops Team was a special forces unit of the Principality of Zeon’s Mobile Assault Force during the One Year War. Under the command of Captain Hardie Steiner, it comprises soldiers trained not only in piloting Mobile Suits but also in infiltration, sabotage and intelligence operations. The unit plays a central role in *Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket*, where its members take part in Operation Rubicon, aimed at neutralising a new Gundam secretly developed by the Federation.

The PVN.3/2 Sauropelta is a light vehicle designed for the Zeon forces. Fitted with a 4x4 drivetrain and capable of transporting personnel and equipment, it prioritises a simple, robust and economical design suited to various terrestrial environments. Deployed from the very start of the Earth invasion operations, it perfectly illustrates the more conventional military aspect of the Gundam universe that the U.C.
