Recreate a military briefing scene directly inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team with the E.F.G.F. MS[G] Platoon at Briefing Set, a detailed 1/35 scale model from Bandai Spirits’ U.C. Hard Graph range. This collection explores the Universal Century through the lens of realistic military modelling, highlighting the vehicles, soldiers and equipment that accompany the Mobile Suits on the battlefield. 

The centrepiece of this set is the M353A4 Bloodhound, an imposing Hover Truck used by the Federation’s ground forces to provide support, communications and reconnaissance for Mobile Suit units. Its chassis features a high level of detail, with numerous mechanical components, external equipment and detection devices reproduced to scale. 

The assembled vehicle measures approximately 27 cm in length, giving it a particularly impressive presence for a 1/35 scale model. Its underground sonar system, antennas, stabilisers and turret are reproduced to capture the Bloodhound’s key features. Some of this equipment can be positioned in different ways to vary the model’s display. 

The set also includes five multicoloured 1/35-scale figures, including Shiro Amada, Karen Joshua and Eledore Massis, accompanied by two other members of the Federation forces. Bandai has paid particular attention to the uniforms, facial expressions and postures to give the whole set the appearance of a genuine military scene. 

A wide range of accessories allows you to create a complete briefing scene around the Hover Truck: a table, chairs, ammunition crates, pistols, a toolbox, a water tank, cups and various items of military equipment. These elements give the model-maker the opportunity to create a lively diorama rather than a simple display of the vehicle. 

The parts are moulded in several colours and combine different materials suited to the vehicle’s mechanical and flexible components. Unlike many modern Gunpla kits, this U.C. Hard Graph kit requires the use of model glue during assembly. Painting, washes and weathering effects are not essential for assembly, but will help to fully showcase its ‘military model’ theme.

The M353A4 Bloodhound is a specialised combat support vehicle developed to accompany the Federation’s Mobile Suit units. It features powerful information processing systems, telescopic antennas and, most notably, an underground sonar capable of detecting ground vibrations. This capability enables it to carry out reconnaissance, surveillance and tactical command missions, making the Bloodhound an essential part of the battlefield information network. 

In Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, the conflict of the One Year War is portrayed from a human perspective, at the heart of the ground operations conducted by the Federation against the Zeon forces. Shiro Amada commands the 08th Mobile Suit Team of the Kojima Battalion, whilst Karen Joshua and the other members of the unit fight in conditions akin to a conventional ground war. The Bloodhound perfectly complements this approach by providing communications and reconnaissance alongside the Ground Type Gundams, giving this U.C.
