Origin and world of the character
The design of this figurine commemorates the three decades of the American sports comedy Happy Gilmore (called Terminagolf in Quebec), directed by Dennis Dugan in 1996 and co-written by Adam Sandler. The story follows Happy Gilmore, an ice hockey player with a hot-tempered temper and an uncharacteristically powerful shot, who fails to make a career of the sport. To save his grandmother's house from seizure by the taxman, he accidentally turns to professional golf. The figurine captures the character adjusting his distinctive golf swing, inspired by his hockey moves, which he develops under the tutelage and advice of his coach, former champion Chubbs Peterson.
