One of the adults, who I would later find out was the director, Chris Columbus, went along this line asking each child what his or her favourite part of the book was. I remember not being thrilled by this question. The answers came thick and fast, Hagrid! Crockdur! Quidditch! and I just stood there wondering when I'd get home. It wasn't until it was my neighbour's turn that I realised I had no idea. I hadn't thought about it for a second, and I had no idea what we were talking about. Who was this Hagrid? What was Quidditch? My neighbour said he was most excited about Gringotts, and I thought, "What's that all about? Flying animals, perhaps?"

I didn't have time to find out. Chris Columbus turned to me. "Which part of the book are you most looking forward to seeing on screen, Tom?

I let a moment pass. There was a long, awkward silence in the room. I put on my winning smile and pointed to the person next to me. "Same as him! Then I mimed flapping my wings. "I can't wait to see some Gringotts!"

A pause. A heavy pause.

"You mean you can't wait to see Gringotts? The bank?" asked Columbus.

That's it!" I quickly tried to hang on to the branches. The bank! I can't wait!"
